SHIFTAMORPHOSIS

Before you go about googling that word, it's a word I framed from 'metamorphosis', that's what happens to you when you attend a training like CareerShift.

Trust me when I say I heard an earthshaking awesome experience at the last Career Shift.
Truly Jimi Tewe knows what he's doing, I mean he is off the hook, with other powerful speakers at the same event, they literally blew the roof off!

Well, that's not the main reason why I'm writing this post.

I learnt a lot basically at CareerShift 2.0 which I cannot fully express with this post (to get more details, order for the CD), for the sake of those who couldn't attend here are four(4)underlying facts to ponder if you must experience a Career Shift...

1. Always work with a vision: A lot of us are on a journey, basically everyone is moving, where they are headed you never can tell, some moving based on ambition, some illusion, and some vision. Here's a definition I particularly love about vision,
"A mental picture of a desirable future that is so desirable that it compels you to embark on a journey and stay on course regardless of how long it will take, how far it seems or how rough the road is.

2. Pursue your passion; It is an energy that radiates, distance away from you and attract resources to you. "Everything worthwhile in life is work. But if it puts a smile on your face, it doesn't feel like work." That's what passion does for you

3. Subconscious and Conscious State: The Spirit, soul and body should always work hand in hand to attain excellence. You Spirit and soul should go to work with your body.

4. Always work with a goal: You can never target what you cannot see.

If you want to experience a Career Shift even as an entrepreneur these four (4) keys are sure to guide through and to that desirable future.

The next CareerShift comes up on Saturday, 3rd of August 2013 in Abuja. See flyer for more details.

You're amazingly unstoppable!

THE BOSS OR THE BOXED

THE BOSS OR THE BOXED

Hello Great People.

We have witnessed the change in the dynamics of economic engagement in recent times. The battle for survival is at its peak. No doubt, where you are right now is as a result of your courage to face the  challenges that surrounds you or your silence as a result of the too many voices that roar outside you or within you. All is a function of the many choices you have made so far.

In a society filled with different classes of people, one thing is certain, one is the BOSS while the other is simply BOXED. These are positions placed on individuals consciously or unconsciously. You either choose to call the SHOT or be SHUT out of the so many opportunities available to you. You either choose to RING the bell or ANSWER the bell, for those who know what I mean.

As I write this, there is a constant struggle between these two, the BOSS and the BOXED in every strata of the economy.

Do you want to be the BOSS or do you want to be BOXED in a corner, left to feed of the crumbs that falls from the BOSS table? It is up to you!

Make up your mind. Take the bold step and be the BOSS that you have been called to be.

Remember you are the CRO of YOURLife Inc.

To your greatness!
Maximum respect

A CALL TO INNER-DEPENDENCE

As we celebrate yet another independence annivesary, I thought about what exactly is the reason behind the celebration.

As people march down to event centres all over the country in the bid to celebrate which to me is a distraction. History has this to say about Nigeria; Nigeria gained her independence in 1960 which means our country is now 52 years, Wow! At 52, much is expected, according to someone, it is a period of contribution, impact and productivity, but looking at the state of our country can we make boost to say that our country is near fulfilment? Or is our country making meaningful contribution to her citizens or the global economy?

With the increasing rate of corruption and unemployment, my question is; What exactly are we celebrating?
From observation of past celebrations, it seems to me that all we celebrate is the 'longevity of our existence', rather than the credibility of our existence, which to me is a distraction from reality.
A country where her leaders are far from pursuing the real essence of her existence as a country as championed by her founding fathers. As the sound of celebration erupt in high places, so also are the sounds of sufferings, unemployment, poor electricity supply and infrastructure, poor medical facility from the grassroot.

As I take stock of what truly independence is, I find it disturbing that a nation still highly dependent is celebrating her independence, a country that consumes more than they produce. No doubt huge budget would be allocated to this course.

As I will not dabble into the shortcomings of our dear country, I pen this thought to the young Nigeria yearning for a change, who is working, disseminating critical knowledge needed for a new Nigeria.
I call for every young Nigeria to a different kind of celebration, a celebration not centred on physical act but on mental and emotional readjustment...that no matter how rough the journey of life might be, that we would rise to accept this call...the CALL TO INNER-DEPENDENCE. As the nation celebrate, I choose to make a call, a call to look within, a call to emotional strength, a call to mind power, a call to love, a call to sound mind.

In 2 Timothy 1:7; "for God hath not given you the spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of a sound mind."
That no matter the situation of country, we choose not to live in fear of what happens outside, but to dwell more on the strength within. As someone rightly said, "Ninety percent of who we are is internal and only ten percent is outside of us(external)."

So I make a call:
A call to power - You have the power to cause change, to drive relevance, to create, to innovate, to lead, to champion a cause, to do what's right, stand in integrity, to start afresh, to be all that you can be.

A call to love - Love is the greatest gift of all, that if every man would love his neighbor, then the crisis eating up the growth and peace of our society will be a thing of the past. That regardless of tribe, religion or status, love will keep us together.

A call to sound mind - that every young mind must accept responsibility for the development of his or her mind, through knowledge and life long learning. That every one must guard his or her mind from the pollution that is slowly contaminating the minds of the youth.

"True independence is only experienced when inner-dependence is achieved."

Happy inner-dependence!

God bless you, God bless Nigeria.

Preparation

Hello Friend.

Are you really prepared for your expectations? A second-half of the year is almost drawing to a close, and still expectations are high, but how many are really prepared?

You prepare for war when there is peace, for plenty when there is scarcity. Your level of preparation will determine how well you want those needs met. Take small steps towards your dream. No matter how small, at least it is better than doing nothing at all.
